The Mind Behind Modul +:
Christian Wenner
Visionary. Developer. Drying pioneer.
Fascinated by clever and simple technological solutions from an early age, Christian Wenner graduated with distinction in process engineering and has since spent more than three decades developing pioneering drying solutions that have been successfully implemented in international industrial projects.
"Rethink drying technology: away from large, rigid plants and toward compact, truly modular systems. Biomass is available in abundance."
Process Engineering
We think through processes end to end and translate them into low-maintenance, energy-efficient solutions with measurable results.
Belt Dryers
Continuous, gentle and efficient, with modular expansion for any throughput class and consistently high product quality.
Drying Systems
Turnkey systems from a single source: planning, automation, construction and dependable service for stable operation.
Inventive Spirit
Curiosity drives me: ideas become patents, prototypes become robust products, practical, smart and bold.
Career and Background
Born in Soest in 1968 and raised in Uelzen, Christian Wenner turned his technical curiosity into practical work early on. After graduating from school and gaining initial insights at MAN commercial vehicles, he studied mechanical and process engineering at the Technical University of Munich, graduating in 1993 as a Diplom-Ingenieur. He then deepened his knowledge of environmental engineering at the Fraunhofer Institute in Munich. Drying technology became his professional home. From 1994 onward, he advanced at Stela Stefan Laxhuber in Massing from project engineer to technical director and later led major developments in belt and roof-shaft dryers as head of engineering and sales. In 2001 he moved to von Nordenskjöld Verfahrenstechnik, where he managed the project department and sales until 2008, focusing on wastewater treatment, biogas, digestate and drying technology.
In 2008 he moved into entrepreneurship. With his own engineering office for process engineering, he laid the foundation for proprietary solutions, filed the patent for the "container belt dryer" and protected the NEWtainer brand in 2010. In parallel, he founded NEWeco-tec Verfahrenstechnik GmbH in Muehldorf am Inn, which under his leadership produced compact belt drying systems and sold them successfully worldwide until 2019. To create room for growth, he established his own production site and administration building in 2011; through Sweetwater Verwaltungs GmbH he developed and retained the site for the long term. Patent applications and licensing agreements accompanied this path, driven by the conviction that process engineering should be simpler, more efficient and more robust.
Since 2019 he has bundled development, sales and licensing within Wenner Systemtechnik GmbH as managing partner and the driving force behind belt dryers and the NEWtainer compact belt dryer. In 2025 he filed a patent application with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office in Munich for a modular belt dryer, a consistent next step focused on scalability, serviceability and energy efficiency. In private life, Christian Wenner lives in Muehldorf am Inn with his three children. As a volunteer football referee, he values fairness and clear decisions; he finds balance cycling, playing billiards, building models and camping, often gathering the best ideas for the next innovation along the way.
